Developing & improving mountain bike trails in the lower foothills of kunanyi/Mt Wellington

This event is run by City of Hobart Council and we encourage members and riders of the local MTB community to consider being part of this and future initiatives.

Participating in these events is not only a way to give back to the rider community in general. It is an an opportunity to learn and gain skills in how to build and maintain MTB trails. All this with the satisfaction of knowing you have made a contribution to improve the rider experience.

How to Get Involved

At all Trackcare events new volunteers are welcome, and if you can’t commit to the whole five hours – 10 am – 3 pm, you can volunteer for an hour or more during this time. You just need to sign in when you arrive and sign out when leaving!

Drops Track

On Sunday September 15 between 10 am and 3 pm we are again working at TWO sites.

We’re very close to completion and should have works wrapped up at this dig day (AS LONG AS WE GET PLENTY OF KEEN TRACKCARERS!).

Our main dig day will be on the Strickland Falls crossing track. New and regular volunteers and families are welcome.

Meet us where the new track starts off Rivulet Track in Wellington Park (access via Strickland Avenue or Bracken Lane).

The Drops is for more advanced mountain bikers who ride the track. It will involve a lot of technical and difficult work and is definitely for experienced riders only, and suitable for those aged 12 and over.

The Drops dig crew will meet at the BOTTOM of Drops track, please arrive at 10 am if possible.
