All climbing or all Downhill? Why not both? XC mountain biking will have you covered. This series is XCO style which means laps around a defined loop course. It means plenty of folks to chat with while you race and guaranteed good times for all racers.
Please note that this event will be followed by a cleanup of the trail along the highway as part of Clean Up Australia Day. This section tends to accrue a lot of junk, so it would be great if plenty of riders could hang around afterwards to help clean our awesome trails!
Compete in at least 2 races in the series to be eligible for series prizes.
Series points will be allocated as follows (1-90, 2-70, 3-60, 4-50, 5-40, 6-35, 7-30, 8-25, 9-21, 10-17, 11-14, 12-11, 11-9, 12-6. If you fail to finish, you will score 5 points).

A note on sport: This group is for riders who are pretty new to the sport and want to give racing a go, but don’t feel fit enough to be on the trail for over an hour.
A note on expert: This is a group for riders who feel they are faster than sport, but not fit enough to compete with their age group. It will generally be around the same duration as Masters 1/2.
Age is calculated based on your age at the end of 2018 as per MTBA guidelines.
Prior to the main race there is a junior ride for children who are 10 years old or younger. This is non-competitive with an emphasis on fun and group participation. It runs for approximately 15-20 minutes.

$10 juniors ($8 online) and
$5 for under 11

Thanks to all who came out today, to enjoy some fun racing on a beautiful sunny day. It was great to use some new bits of trails, and to see lots of new riders (and people who had never ridden at Clarence before!).
Extra special thanks to those of you who hung around afterwards to help pick up some rubbish along the trails. We filled a skip bin, including several bits of cars, bits of barb wire, and the usual roadside detritus that seems to magically fling itself from motorists as they drive past. 🙂
Anywho, here are the overall results for the first day, as well as the lap times. Please note that the first lap time may be short for some people. This was due to an issue we had with the timing system (I think I sat the stereo system on top of one of the cables!). Sarah had to manually enter ever riders first lap (thanks to Sarah and Adam for finding the issue and getting it going again). This will not have effected your overall position.
Please let us know if there are any issues with the results.
